EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques (also referred to as Tapping and EFT Tapping) and is a powerful method that can help with various physical, emotional, and performance issues. EFT functions on the premise that all parts of one’s life that need improvement are affected by underlying unresolved emotional issues. EFT can help address many different types of problems including physical issues, chronic pain, or diagnosed conditions, since emotional stress can affect the body’s potential to heal.
EFT uses Acupressure combined with elements of Cognitive Therapy and Exposure Therapy to help deal with a number of issues such as stress, emotional issues, issues stemming from one’s childhood, pain relief, phobias, fears, and health conditions. This powerful healing method helps clear unresolved emotional issues allowing one to enjoy more emotional freedom and peace in one’s life.
EFT has proven clinically that it works. According to popular EFT website, EFT Universe, “over 20 clinical trials published in peer-reviewed medical and psychology journals have demonstrated that EFT is effective for phobias, anxiety, depression, posttraumatic stress disorder, pain, and other problems.” [1]
Although EFT can be used successfully on your own, I have found that some individuals benefit greatly from working with an EFT practitioner to help them go deeper in discovering underlying issues that are affecting them and to have someone hold space for them. Throughout my life, individuals and complete strangers would often tell me very personal stories about their lives and say that they felt very comfortable sharing it with me. Because of this quality, clients often feel safe to explore deeper problems with me that we can then heal with EFT.
